Channa has decades of expert financial and business experience which he is committed to using to serve humanity through a multitude of avenues. He is the Chairman of the Sarvodaya Development Finance and Vice President of the Sarvodaya Movement, an organization providing comprehensive development and conflict resolution programs to villages in Sri Lanka. He is also Founder-President of COEXIST Foundation, supporting sustainable entrepreneurs at a village level. 

Channa is also the Founder Chairman of Capital Media, publishers of Echelon business magazine, Cosmopolitan (Sri Lanka), Top Gear (Sri Lanka), and web portal economynext.com. 

Channa previously served as Managing Director of Summit Finance PLC as well as Group Managing Director of Delmege Group Limited. He was also Board Director of Pan Asia Bank PLC. 

His passion for tourism led him to become the Chairman and principal investor of Coral Rock hotel Hikkaduwa and Club Villa Bentota between 2012 – 2017. He has served the government sector previously as Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Sri Lanka and Executive Director of the Board of Investments (BOI) Sri Lanka. He has also served on many other government boards previously.

Channa is a committed humanitarian worker, passionate about supporting social entrepreneurs and vulnerable communities with the mission to create a sustainable future through conscious business. 

Channa currently serves as the President of the University of Colombo Graduates Association and is also a Sri Lanka Council Member of ACCA-UK, and CISI-UK.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Colombo and Master’s Degrees from Harvard University (USA) and Melbourne University (Australia). He is also an Edward Mason Fellow of Harvard University and served as a Teaching Fellow in Public Finance at the Harvard Kennedy School.

Channa is a double accountant, as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (FCMA – UK) and Fellow of the Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA – UK), and a member of Chartered Institute for Securities & Investments (CISI- UK).
